Meaningful Moment

Making it into Tortosa. After hiking all morning with Deb, it was nice to just walk around the town with her while we were waiting to check in. After a strenuous hike, once again because of heat and because the distance was longer than we've done before this time, it was fun to just explore the city. We were absolutely tired and sore and very sweaty, but we made the most of it.

Random Thought of the Day

Good hike for most of the day as there was much more shade from trees than on earlier days. It was very hot towards the end but we kept on trucking and made it in by 11:30.

Been consistently worried about the distance tomorrow to our rest stop. But today I noticed that I feel better than in previous days. Perhaps it's a little bit of becoming accustomed to the heat mixed with getting in sync with the time zone difference.

Talked it over with Deb and the early starts are critical to success in the later hours of the morning. Definitely need to plan our days so that we are done hiking by noon.

Tomorrow we are going to try getting up at 4:30 for a 5:30 start. This will be a half hour earlier than we have been doing. We hope that with that extra 30 minutes, we could cover an additional mile and a half.
