On the Road 

Today is the day to head back home. 

Starting out with breakfast at a local porras shop. 

Check out is noon so we have some time to kill in the morning. 

Our train leaves at 3:00 p.m. so we have to Lug our bags around for a little while, and figure out something to do. 

But tonight I should be in Barcelona. 

Tomorrow night I should be home in Rochester.

2:30 p.m. Arrived at the Logroño train station.  In asking about getting to the train platform, because the doors were blocked, I met a man from Seville and we started talking about the Via de La Plata which he had done. 

3:05 p.m. Underway to Zaragoza to transfer trains to Barcelona.

3:41 p.m. Calahorra

3:55 p.m. Rincón de Soto

4:00 p.m. Alfaro

4:07 p.m. Castejón

24 July 2025 Thursday 

Uneventful wake up with a buffet breakfast at the hotel. Cab ride to airport and uneventful check-in and security screenings. 

Waiting at the gate for the flight to Chicago. 

My 2025 Camino trip is all over except for the flight home. 

The Camino del Ebro has been a great experience. 

The one thing I would say is that it was a constant surprise that the non-descript towns along the way were full of surprising and interesting. Descriptions often feel short of reality.

If you like alone time between towns, but friendly Spanish people in towns, they the C del Ebro.

11:00 a.m. Experiencing about a 35-minute delay on push back from the gate. Hopefully we make it up in the air.

2:00 p.m. Arrival O'Hare Airport and deplaned.

3:00 p.m. Cleared immigration, bag retrieval, customs, bag recheck, air train fm T5 to T3, TSA security screening and made it to our departure gate for Rochester.

3:15 p.m. Flight delayed due to severe weather issue. Thunder and lightening over O'Hare.

3:30 p.m. Working K9 checked us out while we are waiting at the gate.

6:00 p.m. Take off. 

7:25 p.m. Arrive Rochester.

Meaningful Moment

31 days later and we are back home 

Random Thought of the Day

It's interesting how 30 days of backpack hiking can so quickly be wrapped up in a backpack on the day that it is over.
