Meaningful Moment

Shopping in Deltebre.

On the way into town,
  • we stopped at the Bar Sortida for cafes,
  • then the bank for euros,
  • followed by the public market for fresh fruit,
  • and ending in the supermarket for more water and energy drink.

The lady in the public market was very friendly and very interested in us, no doubt because Deb and I were speaking Spanish.

The bartender in the coffee shop traded jokes with us. No doubt for the same reason, that is we were conversant.

Random Thought of the Day

From Deb's blog: "We began the day at five and were by the mouth of the river where it meets the Mediterranean sea in time for sunrise. We then found the starting point of the Camino de Ebro and officially began our walk alongside fields of rice paddies and eventually a small canal. The canal should guide us along the first several stages of this Camino."

The GR-99 trail and the Camino de Ebro follow each other almost the entire way.

Port of Deltebre

With so much land devoted to the growing of rice, the beauty of the flowers along the path provides some enjoyable moments.

Rio Ebro

Irrigation canals are the reason that so much land is dedicated to the growing of rice.

Beautiful ending to our first 2 days
